Genova Pesto World Championship

lineagolosaOn the occasion of Pesto Championship, Top Market Foto Video and organize a workshop di food photography with photographer Roberto Savio. It is a unique opportunity to document the whole event behind the scenes, the characters and the main phases of the competition.

IMG 3234Yesterday afternoon the students of State Vocational School for Tourism and Catering 'Marco Polo' (Genoa) competed in the preparation of mortar made Pesto. All Pesto were very good, but only two won the participation to the Pesto World Championship: Giorgio Cuffari and Simone Vesuviano. Here some pictures!

Federico and Luigi are the finalists of the last two preliminary competitions and they are ready to participate in the Genoa Pesto World Championship! Both races were organised in collaboration with two Lions Clubs. Last Friday at the restaurant Nabu, the competition reserved for members and friends of the Lions Club of Genoa Porto Antico. On Saturday evening at Il Toscano di Borgo Fornari, it was reserved for members and friends of Lions Clubs Vallescrivia and it was dedicated to "Gigi Ghirotti", in the jury also prof. Henriquet. Elena Stecher won the preliminary competition organized by Banca Patrimoni Sella & C. and reserved to members and friends of Circolo Svizzero. It was Elena first time with marble mortar and wooden pestle, nevertheless she won against the other competitors.

The jury was composed by Alberto Contini and Paolo Stoppielli for Banca Patrimoni Sella & C., Roberto Panizza, Maurizio Valle and Federico Rescigno for Palatifini Association.
