Two extraordinary pesto preliminary competitions took place in the beautiful location of Imperia, western part of Liguria. Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce of Imperia, we participate in “OliOliva”, the fair of olive oil.
Starting from the 13 of December 2011, it is possible to pre-subscribe to the Championship fulfilling the registration form below. Subscriptions are not binding until payment of the fee (open from February 2012).

The Participation fee is 75 euro if you wish to receive the Official Championship Mortar made of Carrara white marble together with a wooden pestle. If you participate with your own personal mortar, the fee is 40 euro. The fee includes all the ingredients necessary to prepare the pesto, plus an official championship apron, cap and other gadgets.
It is also possible to pre-subscribe to the Championship by phone ( +39 010 2476926 / 7) or by mail (a completed form to Associazione Palatifini, Via San Luca 4/14 sc.C - 16123 Genova - Italy).

During the event of Friburg, called “Plaza Kulinaria” and dedicated to touristic and gastronomic promotion, thanks to the collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Savona, we organized a mortar-made basil pesto competition specifically reserved to people living in Germany.

On Thursday the 5th of November, two mortar-made pesto competitions were held in Guayaquil, especially dedicated to people living in Ecuador and valid for the Championship 2010.

20.000 Italians live in Ecuador and the 75% of them have Ligurian roots. For this reason, Luigi Passano, President in Ecuador of the very famous Association of Ligurian People in the World, organized at the beginning of November “The week of Ligurian People in Ecuador” with numerous events to promote and celebrate Liguria: food and wine, traditions, typical music and a competition of mortar-made basil pesto!
