Federico Ferro is the winner of the third World Pesto Championship just ended in Sala del Maggior Consiglio at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa.He’s 41 from Genoa and he is a chemist in Sestri Levante, he has participated with the old family mortar “pushed by his great passion for the cuisine”. In a hall perfumed by basil he has received the Golden Pestle as winner by the journalist Bruno Pizzul, the unforgettable Italian sports voice.

Anichinico Antonio has won the last preliminary competition - valid for the Pesto World Championship 2010 - organized at "Taste", the prestigious manifestation of wines and food products organized by Pitti Immagine at Stazione Leopolda in Florence and now become the most qualified salon of Italian taste.

Andrea, reknown painter in Los Angeles and Italian food lover, won the mortar made pesto official selection reserved to US competitors and valid for the Third Genoa Pesto World Championship. 11 competitors coming from many californian cities took part to the pesto competition which was held at the prestigious Vincenti Restaurant in Brentwood, Los Angeles.

US pesto competitors are preparing their mortar and pestles for the first-ever US preliminary competition round in pesto making to be held at Vincenti Restaurant in Brentwood on Wednesday the 24th of February beginning at 4:30 pm.
