Il Campionato Mondiale a Vitoria (Spagna, Paesi Baschi)

12 persone, si sono sfidate sabato 22 marzo a Vitoria-Gasteiz per il miglior Pesto al Mortaio dei Paesi Baschi. Ha vinto Marisol Arregui, seguita da Alberto Busca Acuirre e Africa Lopez de Ipina. I partecipanti, donne e uomini di tutte le età e le professioni come è costume del Campionato (questa volta impiegati, operai, cuochi, pescatori e gastronomi), hanno fatto in media un ottimo Pesto utilizzando i prodotti e i mortai portati dalla Liguria. La competizione, valida per la finale a Genova del Campionato del Mondo 2016, è stata appassionata, e i concorrenti sostenuti con un tifo da stadio. E’ stata organizzata nello storico “Mercado La Plaza de Abastos”, con il sostegno del Comune di Vitoria e di Slow Food nella persona del suo presidente Alberto Lopez de Ipina. Grandi animatrici e protagoniste dell’evento sono state le “Sociedades Gastronimicas” basche, straordinario esempio, unico al mondo, di socialità e qualità della vita attraverso la cultura dell’alimentazione.

Pesto Championship at Vitoria (Spain, Basque Country)

12 people competed Saturday, March 22 in Vitoria-Gasteiz for best Pesto Made by a Marble Mortar of the Basque Country. Marisol Arregui won, followed by Alberto Busca Acuirre and Africa Lopez de Ipina. The participants, women and men of all ages and professions as is the custom of the Pesto Championship (this time employees, workers, cooks, fishermen and gastronomes) have elaborated on average a great pesto using the products and mortars brought from Liguria. The competition, which is valid for the final of the Genoa Pesto World Championship in 2016, was passionate and competitors supported by a stadium cheer. The event was organized in the historic “Mercado La Plaza de Abastos”, with the support of Slow Food in the person of its president Alberto Lopez de Ipiña and the Municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Great entertainers and protagonists of the event, even for events organized by gastronomic side Inaki Rojo and Inigo Saenz Castro gastronomes, were the  “Sociedades Gastronomicas” Basque, an extraordinary example of more than 250 associations, unique in the world of social and quality of life through the culture of food.
