Il Pesto a Vitoria

I Paesi Baschi sono pronti a mettersi alla prova con il mortaio e il pestello. I concorrenti sono rappresentanti delle storiche società gastronomiche spagnole e di alcune scuole alberghiere e si sfideranno nella gara eliminatoria del Campionato Mondiale di Pesto al Mortaio che si terrà questo sabato 21 marzo a Vitoria, capitale della gastronomia spagnola, in occasione dell'inaugurazione dello storico mercato Abastos recentemente restaurato.

La gastronomia dei Paesi Baschi è una delle più prestigiose al mondo e le sue società gastronomiche sono caratterizzate da grandi spazi attrezzati con cucine in cui i cuochi e appassionati di cucina si incontrano e condividono la loro passione e cura per il buon cibo.

Con questa gara a Vitoria si consolida un rapporto tra i Paesi Baschi e il nostro territorio che ha visto i loro esponenti con gioia e senso di comunità partecipare alle passate edizioni del Campionato Mondiale di Pesto al Mortaio.

Pesto at Vitoria

The Basque Country is ready to the challenge with the mortar and pestle. Competitors are representatives of Spanish historical gastronomic societies and students of hospitality schools and they will compete in the preliminary competition of the Genoa Pesto World Championship that will be held this Saturday, March 21 in Vitoria, at the opening of the recently-restored historic market Abastos.

The gastronomy of the Basque Country is one of the most prestigious in the world and its gastronomic societies are characterized by large spaces equipped with kitchens where chefs and cooking enthusiasts can meet for sharing their passion and care for good food.

This preliminary competition in Vitoria consolidates a relationship between the Basque Country and our region that has seen their joyfully representatives’ participation in past editions of the Genoa Pesto World Championship.
