At the second day of Olioliva in Imperia, after the important symposium “The olive oil in the Mediterranean diet for the first thousand days of life” on the importance of extra-virgin olive oil of high quality in children diet as form of prevention to disease, we made our Pesto competition valid for the next World Championship!
Competitors came from Italy and abroad: Germany, Sweden and the UK were the foreign countries represented; Massa Carrara, Genoa and Imperia (of course) the Italian provinces present. After the demonstration of Roberto Panizza, President of the Cultural Association of Palatifini, concurrents competed in preparing the best Pesto in a mortar with local and national high quality ingredients.
Gabriella Orengo from Imperia won the competition and so she will participate by right at the Global Challenge. The jury was composed by Stefano Roggerone, Enrico Oliva and Riccardo Platano, for Palatifini Roberto Panizza and Mauro Cavallero.
