Especially difficult the work of the jury during the competition dedicated to Ligurian hotel school students, which was held Friday, November 15 at Fiera di Genova during the Salone Orientamenti ABCD, thanks to the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa.
All pestos prepared were in average very good! The competition is valid for the V Genoa Pesto World Championship and was part of a series of Food & Beverage competitions for the First Regional Crafts Olympics. The top three winners were Giulia Sciaccaluga (who wins the opportunity to participate in the world final of 29 March 2014 at Palazzo Ducale ), Simone Viola and Gabriele Giannecchini .
The 12 representatives of Liguria hotel schools were: Paolo Martuceni and Walter Mantero (Bergese, Genova), Tiziano Bollentini and Sara Granella (Istituto Casini, La Spezia), Thomas Giotta and Mariele Schianchi (Istituto Giancardi, Alassio), Gabriele Giannecchini and Gianlugi Vitale (Istituto di Finale, Finale ligure), Giulia Sciaccaluga and Simone Viola (Marco Polo, Genova) and Davide Marchese and Christian Pedrini (Scuola Alberghiera di Lavagna, Lavagna).
The jury was composed by Aldo Tedesco (CNA), Silvio Seghi (Ascom/Fepag), Gianni Bottino (Coldiretti), Carmelo Infantino (Confesercenti), Luciana Gelaini (Fiera di Genova), Biagio Peres (Confesercenti), Fulvio Truzzi (Liguria Lavoro) and the Counsillor for Gender Equality, Valeria Maione. Palatifini Association were represented by Maurizio Valle, Federico Rescigno and Sara Di Paolo.
