Children’s Championship

One of the most eagerly awaited side events at the World Pesto Championship is undoubtedly the Children’s Championship, a special non-competitive event organized for the little ones. A party for everyone to enjoy together, surrounded by the intoxicating scent of Genovese Basil PDO and the sweetness of Riviera Ligure Olive Oil PDO, proudly flying the flag for pesto as a symbol of Liguria around the world!

Here’s how:

💌 Write a letter to Basilico Genovese DOP explaining why you would like to participate and what pesto means to you.
📮 Post the letter in the mailbox of the Consorzio del Basilico Genovese DOP, at Salita Santa Caterina 50R in Genoa.
📞 Include your parents’ phone number and email address in the letter so we can contact you.

The Consorzio del Basilico Genovese DOP will read all the letters and select the future Little World Champions of pesto made with a mortar and pestle!
The World Pesto Championship is organized by the Genoa Chamber of Commerce and the Palatifini Cultural Association.

The Children’s Championship is an initiative of the World Pesto Championship held in collaboration with the Consortia for the Protection of Genovese Basil PDO and Riviera Ligure PDO Olive Oil and the Regional Wine Cellar of Liguria, and is animated by the actors of the Teatro del Piccione, as part of the Taste Liguria program: an exceptional context for promoting the value of Ligurian PDO products around the world.
