Saturday March 17th 2018: Seventh Genoa Pesto World Championship

100 competitors, 10 finalists

Genoa Pesto World Championship is held in Genoa’s historic Palazzo Ducale. The competition is organized by ‘Palatifini’, a cultural and gastronomic association, whose name means ‘Refined Palates’.

100 competitors from all over the world will prepare Genoese Pesto exclusively with a pestle and mortar, using only traditional, authentic and genuine ingredients. The competition is open to everyone: professionals and amateur cooks. It is possible to subscribe to the championship through the appropriate registration form. Winners of the preliminary competitions have reserved place to participate.

The champion in charge is Alessandra Fasce, 37 years old, from Genoa and she’s assistant cook in a restaurant in Fontanegli.
