Children’s Championship
Non-challenging Genoa Pesto competition reserved to children. Participation is free and open to children from 5 to 10 years old. It is held in Salone del Minor Consiglio at Palazzo Ducale, Saturday, March 17, in the morning. HERE the details
Piccolo Coro Lollipop
Children – between 5-13 years old – will sing in Genoese dialect the anthem of Pesto World Championship written by Buio Pesto. The chorus is lead by singer Antonella Serà, director of A.L.C.A.demia music school.

Main Ligurian consortia of the food sector present their typical local productions of quality in Salone del Minor Consiglio at Palazzo Ducale, during the entire day of the Championship.
Vetrine in “gara”
Showcases competition in collaboration with ASCOM and CONFESERCENTI; genoese showcases will be fit out with the Theme of Genoa Pesto World Championship. The best one will be prized.
Ancient Mortars exibition
Exibition of historical mortars owned by Genoese families, in the exibition area of Salone del Minor Consiglio.
Pesto Talk
As part of the activities aimed at UNESCO recognition and during the food year it will be possible to be interviewed and record their experiences, stories and personal and family testimonies on the relationship with Pesto and the approach with mortars and pestles; in the Sala del Minor Council of Palazzo Ducale during the day of 17 March.
“Annullo postale”
It will be possible to receive a postcard of the day with a specific postage stamp and postmark by Poste Italiane, at the entrance of Sala del Maggior Consiglio.
Corner Palatifini and Fondo Tumori e Leucemie del Bambino
At the entrance to the Sala del Minor Consiglio, two information areas will be set up dedicated to the Palatifini Association and to the Children’s Cancer and Leukemia Fund, which has been working for 50 years on the professionalism of doctors, research and direct assistance to children sick in the hospital.
Guided tour in the Historic Center “Artisans in Liguria”
Saturday, March 17 there will be the opportunity to be accompanied in the streets of the historic center for the itinerary “A day as a craftsman”, edited by Confartigianato Liguria, where the participants will discover the artisan shops of the historic streets of Genoa. The departure is scheduled at 17.15 from Palazzo Ducale in the area in front of the Salone del Maggior Consiglio and the tour with the guide will have a maximum duration of 2 hours, returning to the Palazzo Ducale again. It is possible to book for the sightseeing tour , until 12.00 on Saturday 17 March 2018, at the reception point set up outside the Salone del Maggior Consiglio. The same path can be done freely, during the World Pesto mortar days, using the free APP of the YouLiguria site that can be downloaded at www.youliguria.it
Pesto Party
Event by invitation. On the occasion of the World Championship, the restaurants of the Genoa Gourmet and Liguria Gourmet Association will offer quality food and drinks, with reference to the Ligurian culinary tradition, to Italian and foreign guests in the Sala del Maggior Consiglio.
During the evening guests will enjoy the music of the gypsy jazz genovese quartet Madame Belleville inspired by the gypsy sounds of django reinhardt’s manouche music and the swing of the origins of New Orleans. The group consists of: Simone Dabusti (trumpet), Enrico Pagnucci and Fabian Villavicencio (guitars), Gabriele Greggio (double bass).
