Among the heady scents and vibrant colors of the Mercato Orientale – the most ancient and popular market of Genoa, took placea lively preliminary competition that involved customers and merchants as well. The winner is Sara Ottogalli, from textiles and fabrics boutique, followed by Cinzia Cevasco, from the Cevasco’s Butcher. In the third place Giorgio Rebagliati. The jury was composed by Gianni Bottino, secretary of the Consortium of Genovese Basil POD, Paolo Calcagno, basil producer and sponsor of the Genoa World Pesto Championship, Novella Furloni, Municipio Genova Centro Est (Genoa Center East Town Hall), Maurizio Valle and Roberto Panizza from Palatifini Association. The preliminary competition was made possible thanks to Municipio Genova Centro Est.
