For The Ocean Race sails, starting next Sunday, the good wind of the World Pesto Campionship is added

2 official stages in Genoa and Alicante

On Sunday 15^th January at 12 noon, on the occasion of the departure in Alicante, Spain, of the largest sailing marathon around the world, two eliminations will be organised for the final of the X World Pesto Championship to be held in Genoa in March 2024.

In our city the preliminary round will be held on the stage set up in front of Palazzo San Giorgio in the Old Port, while in Alicante it will take place tomorrow inside the Genoa Pavilion, which hosts numerous events and activities promoting its beauty and excellence. In the afternoon, after the Pesto al Mortaio competition, the actual start of the Ocean Race sailors will be followed by a direct link to Alicante on the ledwall in front of Palazzo San Giorgio.

The Pesto al Mortaio with its Championship will tour the world together with The Ocean Race, sharing some of its stages, in addition to Alicante and Genoa for the grand finale, in Cape Town (South Africa), Itajai (Brazil), Newport (USA), Aaarhus (Denmark) and The Hague (Netherlands).  The good wind of the regatta speaks of Genoa and smells of basil.
