THE BEST PESTO IN THE WORLD IS MADE BY CAMILLA, 22, GENOA-PEGLI

Camilla Pizzorno, a 22-year-old student and aspiring psychologist, is the new world champion of Genoese pesto al mortaio.
She comes from Pegli, a delegation in the western part of Genoa.

Camilla beat off the 100 competitors from all over the world, who today, Saturday 4 June, challenged each other in the Salone del Maggior Consiglio in Palazzo Ducale.

There was a huge turnout for the Championship, back in attendance after four years, with its side events, from the challenge between man and robot organised by IIT, to the traditional non-competitive children’s championship and the philatelic cancellation by Poste Italiane.
